Hello Everyone! I’m back and up to no good again! Thanks to your generous support last Spring, I was able to successfully complete the Ulman Cancer Fund’s Key to Keys bike ride. The Ulman Cancer Fund was a tremendous help to me when I was first diagnosed with cancer over three years ago and I want to continue to give back and help support those in need. This September 15-22, 2018, I will be participating in the Point to Point Experience. It is a eight day run from Locust Point, Baltimore, MD to Key West, FL. This 1,000+ mile journy will benefit the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults. Money raised from this run will aid the construction of a new facility for cancer patients that the Ulman Cancer Fund is building and help raise cancer awareness.

I wanted to thank you all again who have previously donated. For those who are new to my fundraising page, here is my story:

Over three years ago, I was diagnosed with low grade chondrosarcoma -which is a slow growing cancer. It was causing me to have double vision, and even now, the tumor is still located in the center of my skull. Since then I have been through two surgeries and two months of radiation. One thing I am humbly aware of is that I could never have made it through my journey by myself. I had the help of my family, friends, co-workers and the Ulman Cancer Fund. I don't think that anyone should have to face cancer alone and this is why I want to help raise awareness. Over the course of eight days, I will run from Baltimore, MD to Key West, FL. Along the way I will visit cancer centers and communities with the hopes of inspiring and uniting communities who are facing similar difficulties to the ones I have faced over the last three years. I also want to support those who are helping fundraise endeavor for the first time. I am determined to raise awareness of the impact of cancer on young people and to do what I can to help raise funds for the fight against cancer.

The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, the Ulman Cancer Fund is able to provide free support services and resources for the young adult cancer community including:
 

Cancer to 5K - a 12-week training program designed to introduce or reintroduce cancer survivors to physical activity.

UCF House - a “home away from home” to provide free housing for young adult cancer patients, and their caregivers, in East Baltimore. 

Patient Navigation - a free program (onsite at cancer centers and remotely through our office) that ensures no young adult ever faces cancer alone. We provide one-on-one support & resources to young adults and their families to help them manage the cancer experience and long-term cancer survival.

Scholarships - a financial assistance program to help young adults continue their education after being affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one.
