I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in March of 2018. My last treatment is scheduled for Monday, August 6th. I will ring the bell on Monday not only for me, but for all of those who never had & never will have this opportunity & to everyone out there who has been through a difficult time-because at the end of the day we are all survivors just trying to make it. When the going gets tough, don't ever give up. It's about finding the sun when the shade is trying to overcome you. I chose to learn lessons from my experience while actively receiving treatment, I did not allow my diagnosis to diminish my spirit. I have made a vow to myself-I will never stop becoming the best verison of me there is. I hope to encourage others to do one thing everyday that makes them smile no matter what troubles they have faced because life is too short for anything else & cancer could happen to anyone - even the healthiest of people. I hope to push people to make the best out of the days they are given & to always be kind to others. I have become better through this challenging time by taking steps to work on myself not just physically but spiritually, mentally, & emotionally during treatment. The Ulman Cancer Fund has been a huge support  for me to lean on. Although, I am incredibly grateful everyday of my life for my support system, there are still times when I feel alone, UCF has shown me I never will be. To celebrate closing my treatment chapter, I am  traveling down the East Coast from Baltimore to Key West, FL through Ulman Cancer Fund's Point to Point. I will be supporting a group of 28 people who are raising funds & awareness for young adults with cancer. I will be navigating the runners down the east coast as we stop to visit cancer centers. I want to give back to the cancer community as others have given to me as well as connect on an emotional level with others in the community. My hope is to encourage others to see their best potential in life. I will be dedicating days during my journey to one of my best friend’s mother, my roommate's father, my grandmother, my aunt, & my Lymphomies whom were all affected by cancer. The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, the Ulman Cancer Fund is able to provide free support services and resources for the young adult cancer community including:
 

Cancer to 5K - a 12-week training program designed to introduce or reintroduce cancer survivors to physical activity.

UCF House - a “home away from home” to provide free housing for young adult cancer patients, and their caregivers, in East Baltimore. 

Patient Navigation - a free program (onsite at cancer centers and remotely through our office) that ensures no young adult ever faces cancer alone. We provide one-on-one support & resources to young adults and their families to help them manage the cancer experience and long-term cancer survival.

Scholarships - a financial assistance program to help young adults continue their education after being affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one.
