I'm so pumped to share that this September I will be participating in Point to Point 2018 through the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults! I will be a part of a team setting out on a 1,500 mile journey from Locust Point in Baltimore, MD to the Southernmost Point in Key West, FL. We will run or walk 2-3 hours each day to raise awareness of young adult cancer and spread the mission of the Ulman Cancer Fund: unite communities, and inspire hope towards the eradication of cancer. We do this by visiting patients diagnosed with cancer at hospitals and cancer centers, as well as raising awareness about Ulman's mission in the towns we stop in along our route. My goal is to raise $4,500 for this journey that will support the amazing programs and services at Ulman.
Not until I began my career did I truly understand the ripple effect that a cancer diagnosis has. If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with cancer you too understand all the components that others may not. As a nurse I’m passionate about helping others. Finding services revolving around healthcare and impacting specific populations such as young adults and people my own age who have been affected is a different way I can help on another level.

The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, the Ulman Cancer Fund is able to provide free support services and resources for the young adult cancer community including:
Cancer to 5K - a 12-week training program designed to introduce or reintroduce cancer survivors to physical activity.
UCF House - a “home away from home” to provide free housing for young adult cancer patients, and their caregivers, in East Baltimore.
Patient Navigation - a free program (onsite at cancer centers and remotely through our office) that ensures no young adult ever faces cancer alone. We provide one-on-one support & resources to young adults and their families to help them manage the cancer experience and long-term cancer survival.
Scholarships - a financial assistance program to help young adults continue their education after being affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one.
