This fall, I will be taking a 1500 mile journey from Locust Point in Baltimore, MD to the Southernmost Point of the US in Key West, FL with the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults' Point to Point program. The purpose of this trip is to create an avenue of funding and support for the fight against cancer. Our mission will be to raise awareness, build communities and inspire hope to those battling cancer.
As you may know, my daughter Jessica was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer in April while attending the University of Miami. After surgery in Miami, we returned to our home in Baltimore, where she is continuing treatment. I am participating in this experience in support of Jessica and the many young adults and their families who continue to battle cancer. As a member of the Point to Point team, I have accepted the challenge of raising over $4500 before we are able to hit the road in September. While some of the money raised will go toward the trip, the majority of funds raised will be used for the Ulman Cancer Fund's direct services.

The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, the Ulman Cancer Fund is able to provide free support services and resources for the young adult cancer community including:
Cancer to 5K - a 12-week training program designed to introduce or reintroduce cancer survivors to physical activity.
UCF House - a “home away from home” to provide free housing for young adult cancer patients, and their caregivers, in East Baltimore.
Patient Navigation - a free program (onsite at cancer centers and remotely through our office) that ensures no young adult ever faces cancer alone. We provide one-on-one support & resources to young adults and their families to help them manage the cancer experience and long-term cancer survival.
Scholarships - a financial assistance program to help young adults continue their education after being affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one.
