FINALLY!!! 3 years later I am finally doing the Keys to Keys!
Although I finished my 4,000+ mile bike ride across the country from Baltimore to San Diego, the same raw feelings come back. I am anxious to make a difference in the cancer community, I am nervous of meeting my fundraising requirement, and I am excited to embark on this adventure.
My ties to the cancer community came about when I was a young adult. It's not something that you think about until it happens to someone you cherish deeply. Young adults fighting cancer often confront the loss of a sense of independence and the natural progression of maturity, as well as concerns over changes in physical appearance, fertility, and relationships. Additionally they face obstacles such as education, insurance, and employment. I can't imagine being in their shoes and experiencing these hardships.
That is why I am back on the saddle to help provide support and relief to Young Adults affected by cancer. I am biking for my loving family and my Aunt Kathy who is now a cancer survivor. I am biking for my inspiring friends and Charlotte who inspired me on my 4k journey but passed away in 2015. I am biking for my gracious mentors and Q who lost her battle against cancer due to lack of resources back in 2013. I am also biking for my San Diego Fam along with Jamie Roberts and Jeremy Pope who live for the ride.
I am honored to be a part of this team and hope you will find the Ulman mission one that you can support (in any amount). Thank you.

The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, the Ulman Cancer Fund is able to provide free support services and resources for the young adult cancer community including:
Cancer to 5K - a 12-week training program designed to introduce or reintroduce cancer survivors to physical activity.
UCF House - a “home away from home” to provide free housing for young adult cancer patients, and their caregivers, in East Baltimore.
Patient Navigation - a free program (onsite at cancer centers and remotely through our office) that ensures no young adult ever faces cancer alone. We provide one-on-one support & resources to young adults and their families to help them manage the cancer experience and long-term cancer survival.
Scholarships - a financial assistance program to help young adults continue their education after being affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one.
