"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”   These are the words that stood out to me from last year’s ride and that encouraged me to join Key to Keys 2018.

Each day, I feel privileged to work alongside individuals who are deeply committed to helping patients on their journey to conquer cancer.  I recently met a few young adults from the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults.  I was blown away by their passion, enthusiasm for life, and the meaningful plans they have for their futures. I immediately knew that I was destined to be a part of their ride.  I think about what this type of ride might mean to others and even myself... The best outcome is that it will bring inspiration, hope, support, and encouragement to all those involved.  It is a way to physically & financially support a very important group of people who have a lot to look forward to in the coming years.

Cancer means a lot of different things to different people.  It can bring heartache and fear.  However, it also brings insurmountable amounts of strength for life altering ways to look at life. It can even encourage people to live each day to the fullest under the toughest of circumstances.  I want to do what I can to help raise awareness and funds so that one-day, there might be a cure.  I have seen friends and family suffer from this disease, and I will be riding for them.

The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, the Ulman Cancer Fund is able to provide free support services and resources for the young adult cancer community including:
 

Cancer to 5K - a 12-week training program designed to introduce or reintroduce cancer survivors to physical activity.

UCF House - a “home away from home” to provide free housing for young adult cancer patients, and their caregivers, in East Baltimore. 

Patient Navigation - a free program (onsite at cancer centers and remotely through our office) that ensures no young adult ever faces cancer alone. We provide one-on-one support & resources to young adults and their families to help them manage the cancer experience and long-term cancer survival.

Scholarships - a financial assistance program to help young adults continue their education after being affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one.
