Please help me support the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults. 

I joined the Key to Keys Team for 3 reasons:

1) to raise awareness and funds for UCF because they supported Henry through his illness, and they continue to be there for us in our grief;

2) to push me forward;

3) for HENRY!

Henry was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in January 2015. His humor, courage, and love helped him through three rounds of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transport. He spent more than 200 days in the hospital. The patient navigator (funded in part by UCF) at Children's National, Allie, was by his side the whole time. She laughed, listened, danced and became a cherished friend. Henry's doctors and nurses changed, but Allie was his constant. She created the "night of his life" when she arranged to have a private prom for Henry and his girlfriend. The Ulman staff and volunteers decorated, cooked, served, and shed a few tears. Everyone involved felt lucky to share such a special night and give Henry the gift of being just a teenage boy with his girlfriend at the prom rather than a cancer patient, if only for 1 night. Unfortunately, Henry was admitted to the hospital 2 days later for the last time.

Sadly his body grew too tired to go on, and Henry died on October 16, 2015. 

I dedicate my ride to Henry. By his example, I will push myself farther, laugh harder, and never ever give up!
