It still hasn't hit me. This December will mark four excruciatingly difficult years without my Mom. Can you believe that? I think about how proud she'd be – of my brother for leaving a comfortable career to pursue his dreams. Of my sister, for marrying the man of her dreams and getting a sheep baby of her own. But I think she would be most proud of my Dad, who in her absence has displayed a sense of depth, resolution, and strength that I never knew existed.
I’ve spent the last four years trying to make sense of it all, struggling to be the backbone of my family and fill the impossibly large shoes of my mother who was truthfully the most amazing woman I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.
This bike ride from Baltimore to Key West will inevitably be one of the hardest things I've had to endure, but I force myself to never forget the grit, strength and absolute dignity by which my Mom fought to the bitter end, and am reminded that her strength is in me.
Whether you can donate $5 or $500, each and every donation goes toward helping young adults battle this gruesome disease that has affected far too many of us.

The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, the Ulman Cancer Fund is able to provide free support services and resources for the young adult cancer community including:
Cancer to 5K - a 12-week training program designed to introduce or reintroduce cancer survivors to physical activity.
Patient Navigation - a free program (onsite at cancer centers and remotely through our office) that ensures no young adult ever faces cancer alone. We provide one-on-one support & resources to young adults and their families to help them manage the cancer expereience and long-term cancer survival.
Scholarships - a financial assistance program to help young adults continue their education after being affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one.
