Welcome to my fundraising page :) For those of you who don't know here is a little bit about me and my family's story..
My dad was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2009 during my senior year of high school, he went through surgery, chemo, and radiation and went into remission after about a year of treatment. In 2012 we found out that my dad's cancer had come back and metastasized to the lining of his stomach. He went through another invasive surgery and an additional eight months of chemo. During this time, I decided that I needed to do something to show my dad how much his strength inspired me. I signed up for the inaugural 4k for Cancer Run through the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults.
The 4k for Cancer organizes trips for groups of young adults who have been personally impacted by cancer. Participants run or bike 4,000 miles across the country as a team with the goal of offering hope, inspiration, and support to cancer communities along the way. The 4k for Cancer Run was incredibly challenging, both physically and emotionally, but it was by far the most rewarding and revealing experiences I have ever had. By the end of the trip, my dad had completed his treatment and was there to watch me cross the finish line.
My dad’s cancer came back for a third time in June of 2014, he passed away on August 20th. My dad loved cycling, we participated in an event called 24 Hours of Booty together, and he always talked about working up to riding Key to Keys someday. I want to participate in his honor this spring.
UCF does amazing work in the cancer community and provides unique opportunities for individuals impacted by cancer to connect with each other. Know that any bit you donate will directly help patients and families!

The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, the Ulman Cancer Fund is able to provide free support services and resources for the young adult cancer community including:
Cancer to 5K - a 12-week training program designed to introduce or reintroduce cancer survivors to physical activity.
Patient Navigation - a free program (onsite at cancer centers and remotely through our office) that ensures no young adult ever faces cancer alone. We provide one-on-one support & resources to young adults and their families to help them manage the cancer expereience and long-term cancer survival.
Scholarships - a financial assistance program to help young adults continue their education after being affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one.
Your donation will help make these programs and our mission possible!
