So people ask me why I choose to be involved in the Ulman Cancer Fund(UCF), and simply put it is an awesome charity that I have seen make an actual difference in peoples life.  I do not have a direct connection with cancer but once I saw the difference they made in those young adults lives that have been affected, I simply was all-in in support of their mission.  

How did I find Ulman?  Was invited to an UCF event by my friend Kristen, who was already pretty involved, and started talking to others at the event.  Next thing I knew I was signed up to join Team Fight at the 24 Hours of Booty a few months later.  It was during this event (24 Hours of Booty) I was completely sold on UCF.  On our team I meet multiple young adults that had to battle cancer, and what part of UCF had during that fight.  After this event I signed up for my first triathlon with Team Fight the following year and have been doing them ever since.  The toughest one was Eagleman Ironman 70.3 which is held in Maryland during the month of June.  It was on the half marathon course I was struggling (just think June in Maryland, 100 degrees, 100% humidity, and no shade on the course), and simply thinking back to those stories I heard during my first Team Fight event was what gave me the motivation to get to the end of the course.

In 2016, I got even more involved in UCF by joining their Board of Young Adult Advisors (BOYAA).  Now I am taking on Key to Keys (a ride from Baltimore to Key West) as a rider for their 2017 team.  I am trying to raise $4,500 as part of Key to Keys, so whatever little you are able to donate is a huge help.
