I am honored to be selected to the Key to Keys 2016 team for a 1500 mile cycling event, from Baltimore's Key Highway to Key West, Florida, April 9 - 16, 2016. This team will raise awareness about young adult cancer and spread the mission of the Ulman Cancer Fund as we visit cancer centers along the way.
I invite you to join me in fundraising for the UCF that supports young adults as they navigate their cancer diagnosis, life journey and unique needs. The money raised will provide vital programs and services to help them with fertility preservation, health insurance conflicts, employment, education, physical activity, relationship maintenance and social isolation. UCF changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults and their families as they fight cancer and embrace survivorship.
I have been a hospital pharmacist for 38 years and have helped many patients through the management of their chemotherapy. I've always wanted to do more. I was in my teens when my grandmother, aunt and uncle passed away from cancer; afterwhich I dedicated my life's work to healthcare. More friends and family have been lost to cancer, including my mother and most recently my brother, Bob and close cycling friend, Marcy. Although more needs to be done to conquer cancer, much is already being done to help manage this illness and how it affects lives.

A big thank-you-ever-so-much to those of you who have supported me on my prior cycling cancer fundraising events - Tour of Hope (2003), LLS (2004) and Breast Cancer Awareness (2006). My UCF fundraising goal is $4500 by April 16, 2016 - just in time for the blooming yellow daffodil, a symbol of rebirth and new beginnings.
I am dedicating this ride to my brother Bob who was always there for me...until he wasn't. I miss him mucho.

UCF Key to Keys Experience is a journey that brings together a diverse group of individuals to build a community of support for those affected by cancer. Using cycling as a platform, Key to Keys participants come together throughout the journey to share their individual cancer connections and give out as much support to others as they are receiving.
