I know what you're thinking.  Beards are a silly way to raise awareness about cancer.  Maybe, but cancer touches every one of us.  Even if we are lucky enough to not have a family member or friend who has wrestled with this terrible disease, we hear about it everywhere.  Cancer comes into lives like a fighter, and it takes even stronger fighters to beat it back.  And if growing the most amazing facial hair in the world can help recruit other fighters, then bring on the beard.

There are many charities that do cancer research, but there aren't many that help the patient directly.  The Ulman Cancer Fund blew me away when they started discussing their mission.  Their committment to helping the patients directly, by providing scholarships to students facing cancer, by giving one-on-one support to paitents, of doing even things like helping keep the lights on in patients' houses is incredible.  For all of the work that the Ulman Cance Fund does in the Mid-Atlantic and around the country, I'm honored to be growing this thing.  Help fight with me by making a donation today!
